Madagascar
The best thing to do on a rainy afternoon is snuggle up with our daughter and watch this:
Friday Lunchtime Poll #20 – BBQ Weather
Onion Soup
(I promise I’ll finish the French reminiscences soon. Soon-ish)
Anyway, when we went to France as kids we always brought back packets of Maggi’s onion soup. I even bought some when on the infamous Eurotunnel adventure with Kirsty and Gayle (I was so square. I say was…).
We didn’t buy any this year, but I did find a lovely recipe for making your own. I’m not sure it’s a kid-friendly dish though.
Strawberries
We had some beautiful strawberries for breakfast on holiday, something I cannot be bothered with in my “shake the cereal box and pour” morning haze on regular days. But there is nothing like a lush strawberry flan and we had one of those too (my brother-in-law *might* have demolished the remains of it the next day. He likes flan!).
Fast becoming one of my favourite food blogs, meatballs and milkshakes has a wonderful recipe (and drool-worthy photos) here. Good summer stuff.
Citroen C1 Advert
During a break in the football (French TV stations show more ads than ITV, with the added bonus of no Adrian Chiles) I watched a brilliant, funny advert for the Citroen C1 (I think). No amount of you-tubing has found it though, so I’m going retro with the robot dance one instead. If you come across the one I mean, let me know!
Back when I was a travelling salesperson
This played on the radio constantly. Still love it. Enjoy.
